OVERVIEW
Dipping into a brand new look
Chick-fil-a in Square One Mall, Mississauga ON required a fast remodel that optimized their back of house operations. The popular American fast food restaurant, the largest chain specializing in chicken sandwiches, was looking to update the function and esthetics of the establishment, with a new manager’s office, front and back service counters, a stainless steel pass-through, a custom pick-up desk, and T&G wall paneling.
The project had a tight deadline of just two days, which required the Archmill House team to ship millwork in completed form, giving the installation team on-site the necessary time to complete the work. However, during the crucial shop drawing phase, an unforeseen challenge arose. When the cabinets arrived on-site for installation, the team discovered that one of the cabinets did not properly fit the designated cement base. Upon further inspection, the team realized that the dimensions provided for the cement base footings – on which the cabinets were to be installed – were incorrect.
While unexpected challenges can arise during construction, Archmill House’s mission is to strive for flawless execution, and faced with this setback, the team sprang into action. Leveraging our state-of-the-art "Blue Streak" shop and our extensive expertise in customization, the team was able to quickly modify the cabinet to fit the space. Within 24 hours, the modified cabinet was ready for installation, allowing the project to stay on schedule, without compromising the design or quality of the final outcome.
