How Archmill House Manages Complex Projects

Archmill House’s goal is to strive for flawless execution, and over the years, our team has stood up to the test, even when managing the most complex projects.

In this blog post, we will delve into the key elements of Archmill House's successful project management approach, which is built on our team’s extensive experience and expertise, an industry-leading national installation network, and a commitment to local sourcing for materials.

Here are some of the ways we continue to excel at managing complex projects:

Leveraging Project Management Expertise

To start, all projects taken on by the Archmill House team are assigned one of our experienced Project Managers, who is then responsible for the planning, execution, monitoring, and controlling of the project. This ensures one point of contact throughout, and reduces any potential for confusion or miscommunication.

Following the Project Manager’s lead, Archmill’s support team then oversees the total project cycle from original shop drawings through millwork manufacturing and assembly to delivery and installation.

Regular, Structured Communication

For all projects, the Archmill team develops a milestone report, which highlights specific points in a project’s life cycle and then tracks and measures progress toward the ultimate goal.

A milestone report helps provide transparency throughout the construction process. Our clients, however, also have direct access to their Project and Client Manager at all times throughout the project, including regular check-ins and status updates. This type of regular, structured communication process reduces the potential for misunderstandings that are often the cause of delays, cost overruns, and other issues.

Establishing effective communication channels and processes also helps build a strong foundation for collaboration, which makes it easier to resolve issues when they arise.

Local Sourcing and Purchasing

Over the years, the Archmill House team has worked to ensure the most efficient construction process and high-quality builds that enhance your establishment customer experience and improves operations. One of the most important components of our approach is a commitment to local (or “near shore”) sourcing for materials.

Sourcing materials from nearby locations and local suppliers can provide you numerous benefits, including:

  • Lower transportation costs of materials and resources

  • Improved project timelines as sourcing can be expedited

  • Enhanced quality control as it is easier to ensure materials quality when they are close to the site

By sourcing materials and resources locally, you can also promote sustainable practices and demonstrate a commitment to your community and its economy, both of which enhance your reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.

Seamless Construction Management

To further enhance our unique and effective approach to construction management, we have recently bolstered our team with the addition of Construction Managers in the US and Canada.

Working alongside Client and Project Managers, our Construction Managers will oversee all construction efforts, manage milestone reports, and coordinate and inspect the work of trades, subcontractors, and vendors, among many other tasks.

The goal is always the same: to ensure that your project is done simply, safely, and correctly.
